Great News in Maryland

The Maryland State Legislature ended its 2007 session without voting on a measure that would set a new state level for acceptable lead content lower than the federal limit. NCA has opposed states trying to adopt their own regulations concerning lead because of the confusion for manufacturers and consumers alike.

The legislature is on recess until January 2008.

The other great news in Maryland is that Melissa Lodge will be performing a clarinet solo at tonight's concert by the Saint Jane Frances de Chantal school band. Her selection will be Chanson Moderne, a melodic French tune that was quite a hit in the late 18th century. Melissa will be playing a Selmer Signet clarinet, using Mitchell Lurie reeds. Those interested in autographs are encouraged to wait until after the performance to approach Ms. Lodge.
